I am troubled by the rampant corruption and dysfunction in city government. Taxpayers deserve to know that their government is spending money wisely and fairly, and our elected officials cannot allow politics to get in the way of governing.

I have been at the forefront of the fight for reform and integrity in Troy. When news broke of an alleged misuse of taxpayer dollars to slander a councilperson running for re-election two years earlier, I publicly called on our city council to conduct a full investigation into the matter. In addition, I helped to circulate a petition to hundreds of city residents who were outraged to think that city officials would be involved in such a gross betrayal of the public trust.

As your elected representative, I will call for an independent Public Integrity Board to serve as a government watchdog, holdiing myself and my fellow elected officials accountable.
